If you've been following my work or been in for a session recently, you may have noticed that I'm now incorporating Pranic Healing into some client sessions.
Whenever I mention it, I tend to hear the same questions:
What exactly is Pranic Healing?
How is it different from Reiki?
How do I know which healing modality is right for me?
Will my session be different?
Let's dive in.
What is Pranic Healing?

Pranic healing is a no-touch system of energy healing developed and systematized by Master Choa Kok Sui. The word Prana comes from Sanskrit and means life force or vital energy - the energy believed to sustain all living things.
According to the teachings of Master Choa Kok Sui, the body has the natural ability to heal itself, and this process can be supported by improving the flow and quality of energy within and around the body.
Rather than relying on physical touch, Pranic Healing practitioners work within the body's energy field by using specific techniques to assess, cleanse, energize, and stabilize areas of energetic imbalance in and around the body.
How is Pranic Healing Different from Reiki?
This is probably the question I get asked most often.

Both Reiki and Pranic Healing are energy healing modalities that are based on the idea that the body has an energetic component and that supporting energetic balance may promote overall well-being. Both are gentle, non-invasive practices that many people find deeply relaxing.
There are also some important differences.
Reiki
In traditional Usui Reiki (the kind of Reiki I practice), practitioners traditionally channel Reiki energy through their hands. Sessions often include light touch (or hands just above the body), and many people describe the experience as calming, nurturing, and deeply restorative.
Pranic Healing
Pranic Healing does not involve channeling energy through physical touch. Instead, practitioners are taught to work with the existing life force (prana) in the environment and within the body's energy system.
A typical Pranic Healing protocol includes four primary steps:
Scanning the affected area or chakra: Assessing the energy body to identify areas of congestion, depletion, or imbalance. This energetic assessment helps guide the treatment protocol.
Cleansing: Removing or reducing congested, depleted, or stagnant energy from specific energy centers (chakras), the specific physical location of any pain or tension, and the surrounding energy field.
Energizing: Directing fresh Prana to areas that may benefit from additional energetic support after cleansing has been completed.
Stabilizing: Fresh energy is stabilized to help it remain in place and be more readily assimilated by the body's energy system.
Specific protocols are used for different goals, and practitioners learn to select techniques based on what they observe during an energetic assessment. There are specific protocols developed and tested by Master Choa Kok Sui for common physical ailments such as migraines, constipation, nausea, and chronic fatigue.
Do You Have to Choose Between Reiki & Pranic Healing?
Not at all.

When you come in for a session (or see me virtually), we'll spend time talking about what you're experiencing, what your goals are, and what feels most supportive.
Sometimes a Reiki-only session is the best fit, and sometimes I incorporate elements of both modalities within the same session.
There is no "better" option - only the approach that best aligns with your intentions and the techniques I've been trained to use.
What Does a Pranic Healing Session Feel Like?
Similar to Reiki, every person's experience is unique.
Some people notice:
Deep relaxation
A feeling of warmth or coolness
Tingling sensations
A sense of lightness
Emotional release
Increased mental clarity
Others simply enjoy having a quiet and calming space to slow down and reconnect with themselves.
Some people notice shifts during the session, while others become aware of changes over the following hours or days.
What Can Pranic Healing Be Used For?
According to the teachings of Master Choa Kok Sui, Pranic Healing may be used to support energetic balance related to many aspects of physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
People often seek energy healing when they're experiencing things like:
Chronic stress
Feeling overwhelmed
Emotional fatigue
Difficulty relaxing
Feeling disconnected from themselves
Wanting greater clarity or inner balance
Desire to try a complementary modality to treat a chronic health issue

It's important to understand that Pranic Healing is a complementary practice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace medical or mental health care. Instead, it is designed to support the body's natural healing processes and can often be used alongside conventional healthcare.
Why I Chose to Learn Pranic Healing
One of the things I love most about continuing my education is discovering new ways to support the people who trust me to support them and their health or healing journey.
As I learned about Pranic Healing, I appreciated its structured approach, detailed protocols, and emphasis on understanding the body's energetic anatomy. It has expanded my perspective and given me another set of tools that I can thoughtfully integrate into my practice when appropriate.
Pranic Healing is another way for me to meet people exactly where they are.
Which Modality is Right for You?
The good news is - you don't have to decide before you book your energy healing session with me.
I begin each session with a conversation about what you're experiencing, your goals, and any preferences you have. Together, we'll determine whether Reiki, Pranic Healing, or a combination of approaches feels like the best fit for your session. My personal preference, and what I find most effective, is to include Reiki as a component of your energy healing session regardless of whether Pranic Healing techniques are included.
Every session is individualized because every person is unique.
If you're curious about experiencing energy healing or would like to learn more about whether it's right for you, send me an email or schedule a 15-minute Discovery Call with me. I'd love to connect with you!
